Conditions of Play - Royal City Ladies Triples
Per the Laws of the Sport of Bowls - 3rd Edition 2015, except as noted below
CANCELLATION:
Game day “no-shows” forfeit their entry fee. The Convener may suspend or cancel play due to adverse weather conditions. If play is cancelled before the game starts, the entry fees will be refunded minus club expenses to players who provide their contact information to the Convener. If play is cancelled after the games have started and two games have been played, prize money shall be distributed. If only one game has been played, expenses will be deducted and the remaining money donated to the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation.
- EVENTS: All NWLBC tournaments are OPEN to members of clubs affiliated with World Bowls.
- GAMES: There are three (3) 12-end games.
- TRIAL ENDS: Two bowls up and back, must be completed by the 9:00 AM start.
- BELLS: A bell will announce the start of the game. After 90 minutes a bell will sound to end play. Ends begun (jack set) can be completed.
- HEAD VISITS: Skips may visit the head after their second bowl. Leads and thirds can visit the head after their third bowl.
- OUT OF BOUNDS JACK (BURNT): Respot the jack 2 metres from the ditch on the centre line.
- SPARES: All teams must have three members. Spares must be approved by the convener and if the spare plays more than 2 games, they must become part of the team. Teams with less than 3 members will default.
- SCORING: Teams will be awarded 3 points for a win, 1 point for a tie and, 0 points for a loss. Shots are differentials limited to – or + 10 per game.
- STANDINGS: Ties in standings will be broken using the following: (a) Points Scored; (b) point differential record; (c) ends won.
- SCORE CARDS: At the completion of each game, skips please sign both score cards and winning skips return both cards to the convener as soon as possible.
- PRIZES: Awarded to first, second, third and fourth place winners.
- UMPIRE: No umpire is available. Please ask a player in an adjacent rink to measure and make the decision. If any disputes, please contact the convener.
- FOOTWEAR & DRESS CODE: Footwear should be heel-less. Sandals to have back strap as per Bowls Canada Boulingren 2015 Domestic Regulation G.5 (V&D website on Umpire’s Page). Dress code as described in the current V&D Handbook.
- SMOKING/DRINKING: No smoking or drinking on the green. Please use designated smoking areas on the club’s north side. No player may smoke within 15 feet (4.5m) of the greens or fence gates.
- CELL PHONES: Please turn off cell phones or put on vibrate and do not hold telephone conversations during play or on the green.
- INCLEMENT WEATHER: All players must be available for play regardless of weather conditions
